What's in the course?

We are delving into another great period of drumming musical history. We focus on key drummers in the genre, break down classic beats and fills, jam along with backing tracks, and work through entire songs.

This time it's the drum beats from classic soul songs on the Stax record label. This were all played by Al Jackson Jr, along with the house band at Stax known as Booker T and the MGs.

As well as breaking down these classic Stax drum beats, there is also full notation of two soul songs and two drumless backing tracks to practice your new grooves along with music.
