Here we are breaking down the buzz roll. This is also know as the press roll. It is an essential drum technique that many drummers overlook.

In the lesson we discuss this and reference some famous songs that have ropey buzz rolls. 

I believe that every drummer should know how to play a buzz roll to a reasonable level. It can be used in the traditional drum roll sense but it can also be broken into smaller chunks and used in a very musical context within beats and fills so it's applicable to every style.
