This is the blues shuffle drum course 101.  It teaches you how to understand, feel and count a shuffle by breaking it down and showing how it works and what's involved.

Once we have that understanding we will build a vocabulary of essential blues shuffle grooves as well as a series of fills. Armed with these you can not only play in the blues shuffle feel, but also add variety so you sound interesting. It gives you the freedom to switch things up and build a drum part rather than just hanging on for dear life.

And although this is called a blues shuffle here, the shuffle drum beat is used in all styles so this really is an essential rhythm type for any drummer.
