“This 10 minute course is perfect for getting in that extra drum practice when you are short for time. Back to basics is always good - and the course was clear, concise and it really helps to see the execution against the notation. The notation is really clear and is a real bonus - even if you are not fully confident at reading music. It's a thumbs up from me.”

Create exciting drum fills

Welcome to this drum lesson where we will break down the world's most boring drum fill and five ways to improve it.

Quick caveat: This is a really useable drum fill so my intention here is not to suggest you shouldn't use this fill at all. And it's a great starting fill that drummers should learn to get used to moving around the drum kit using sixteenth notes.

However, once we can play that fill slowly we can look at the next steps to embellish and create interest around that fill. In this drum lesson we will examine five small steps we can take that have a huge impact on this drum fill by creating a much more exciting result.

We will also look at how we can combine those five steps to create unlimited exciting fills every time we play the drums.
